Everything but...
When I first got there, I wasn't really welcomed with open arms. THe staff at reception seem like we are putting them through hell by asking them
to do their job. At first, i loved it! There are mostly Australians and everyone is friendly. The hot tub on the roof was my favourite and the chillout room
is cool if you don't like the bar. It's got a good atmosphere but only three staff members that I would have a conversation with. The others, unless you want
your head chewed off for inconveniencing them, arent worth it.
Big and bustling.
Part of a nationwide chain of hostels, I think this was the first. It's not too far from London Bridge tube station but not in the nicest
area of town. The place is very big and known for being a good place to party. I met some people easily in the large common
room downstairs, and there's a Belushi's Bar attached that has cheap drinks and is usually a good night out. The guy manning the
reception desk wasn't answering the phone at all, although he was busy but it caused me nightmares when I was trying to call
for directions!
Huge but still has character.
It's a huge hostel, but does a decent job of maintaining good character. There is a "party" room downstairs, and it's connected to a bar with
pretty good prices and a decent crowd. All of the doors have keycard access, and there's always someone at the front desk. However, sometimes
they're not the most helpful, but usually friendly anyway. The location is okay. It's not really close to any major attractions, but it is close to a
not-so-busy tube station and plenty of nightlife. As far as the social scene goes, it's huge, so you're bound to find someone you can hang out
with.
