France - Paris

Three Ducks Hostel
6 place Etienne-Pernet - (01) 4842 0405

A festering, filthy "must visit" with the best bar!
The first thing you see when entering the Three Ducks Hostel is the bar and that is probably best as it is the main reason for staying. The rooms are crammed. You have to keep your bags in a fairly unsecure place (highly recommend cables and locks). The staff can be a little aloof. The showers are AWFUL and full of hair and muck, but the people you meet are great and the bar makes up for it all. Good prices and great times and their coffee in the morning is wonderful. It is amazing how a great bar can make a horrible living experience wonderful. The Duck thrives despite third world charm. My friends and I have never traveled through Paris without returning to this filthy heaven and probably never will. Other: Very close to a great Metro stop. As everyone must endure the horror it sometimes makes for greatness. A must if only once!
