Cleanest hostel I've ever been to.
Me and my friend stayed here when we were in Dublin for St. Patrick's Day weekend. It was fabulous and highly recommened.
We were in a 12 bed dorm but were lucky enough to get the upstairs section where there were only the two beds. It was fantastic,
like our own little room to ourselves. The security keycards are a great idea and it's a short walk from the main Grafton Street
and Temple Bar areas. I give it a 10 out of 10.
A big let down.
I had high expectations of Avalon House having seen many positive reviews in guidebooks and from other travellers.
Perhaps I just had bad luck, but I was not impressed. It might have had something to do with the gigantic dorm room
I was staying in and the rowdy Scottish lads next to me. Or maybe it was the bugs in the shower, or the vomit on the
bathroom floor. The staff were cold, and the hostel was in a somewhat shifty part of town. I found it to be lacking in
character as it seemed a little too institutional. The tight security contributed to this atmosphere, but you'll definately
feel safe here.
