The Linen House Hostel
18 Kent Street - (028) 9058 6400
Fantastic - a lovely place to stay.
Hi, I stopped at the Hostel February 2005 while I was researching my Dissertation and I couldn't give this place a better review. The
room was spacious, warm and safe and had a working TV. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful concerning every aspect of Belfast. The hostel
is located literally 5 minutes from the town centre and the airport bus drops you right opposite the street. Overall a great, cheap local place to stay!

I'm from Northern Ireland myself and wanted somewhere cheap t stay for a while as I was between houses, so to speak. This place was the cheapest hostel in the city
and there's a reason for that. All talk about 'character' is bullshit, it's a dingy house down a back alley. And when I got there they sent me halfway across the city to another
house with even less 'character'. They claim to have net access, laundry etc. but there was very little in the way of facilities in this house thy sent me to. As for my room, it was adequate
at best, and certainly not worth £20 a night. It wouldn't helped if the floor had been vacuumed. Worst of all though, one member of staff was very hostile to me because I was 'local'.
He asked me all sorts of questions about whether I was working and why I wanted to stay there... good question. He didn't seem particularely friendly to the other guests, none of whom
seemed particularely happy to be there. I stayed one night after which I moved out and asked for a refund. As someone from here who knows what's good quality and what isn't, I wouldn't
recommend this place at all.
