Nice but dull.
This place is typical HI - clean, sterile, and nobody around to check you in if you arrive in the middle of the afternoon. I waited for the staff
to finish their break before they'd check me in. They were sitting out on the porch for hours while I was meant to keep myself busy somehow.
They do provide lockers downstairs, but I didn't have a lock... plus it's the principle of it... guest arrives, you check them in. Simple. Not to HI.
The place was super clean and quite nice. They did organized meals for a decent price and they had veggie options as well. Everyone sits
down to the meals together, so that's a good way to get chatting with people, but overall the place wasn't lively at all. Good for people who
come to hike all day then are tired at night. I'd stay in the independent Mountain Hostel next time to see if there's any life in Grindelwald.
