There are lots of options for getting yourself around Europe, each one with different pros and cons. I've put some descriptions about each of the most common choices for us backpacker types.

Obviously there are loads more ways of travelling around Europe such as renting a car, point to point buses or trains, biking, and hitchhiking, but I don't really know much about any of those so I've decided to ignore that they exist.

I don't think there there's one best way to 'do' Europe. Everyone has different time limits, interests, and preferences and I think that each of these modes of transport will appeal to someone out there.
