This hostel is right in the centre of town and is pretty big. It's got a bar and a nightclub and puts
on events like automatic bull riding and inflatable sumo wrestling to keep things fun. The staff are
always busy and are mainly interested in selling Whitsundays tours. The hostel operation doesn't seem
to be a priority. I didn't even get a pillow or sheets when I checked in! If you book a sailing trip
through them, you'll usually get a few nights accommodation and luggage storage for free. Try to get
into a cottage rather than a bunkhouse as they're smaller and nicer. There's an outdoor sitting area
with loads of space and a cafeteria-style food place. The hostel is sort of sprawled over a large space
and you'll probably have trouble meeting anyone who's not in your room, but once you return from your
sailing trip, you'll have people to party with as they host post-trip parties with contests and free
jugs of beer.
