One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!
I arrived after a long drive from Esperance with four friends to find that the hostel was having their weekly free wine and pizza night. We got there late and they'd actually gone to the effort of saving us some pizza! The place is located right in the heart of Fremantle about a 10 minute walk from the train. It's a small hostel with only about 50 beds and feels like a home. The manager at the time, Alex, was amazing and really cared about the hostel and its guests. I was chatting to her for ages about how I wanted to own a hostel and she was giving me lots of interesting info about Pirates and how she really wanted to make it something great and not just another backpacker factory. The rooms were clean, other staff friendly, and there's a lovely outdoor sitting area with cushions and a giant tree. I ended up staying at Pirates twice for a total of about 10 days and would recommend it to anyone going to Freo!
