Harvest Work
Harvest work can be picking, packing, planting, stripping, thinning, or sorting fruit, veggies, or even nuts.
It's usually hard work, but usually a really good learning experience, too. It's something you'd never do at
home, and a good way to make money while seeing parts of Australia you'd never have seen, and meeting locals
you'd never have dreamed of meeting... many of them very odd.
This section is your complete guide to the harvest industry in Australia. So if you've discovered the harsh
reality that the cities of Australia aren't the easiest place in the world to get the work and are planning on
heading to the country instead, this guide will tell you most of what you need to know to get started. It's all
the information that I wish I had had before I heading off into the unknown world of farming.
If you want to get an idea of what each type of fruit or veggie are like to pick, I've got short summaries or
the ones that I've picked myself. For the types I haven't picked, I've written what I know about them based on
what I've heard from others.
